mosquito bites - what's the best supplement to take to avoid being bitten?

For the past few years I’ve been getting bitten by mosquitoes [though they may not be mosquitoes] and would like to know which is the most effective supplement to take - Brewers Yeast or vitamin B1 (thiamine)? What’s the recommended dosage?

I was thinking of getting one or the other from Healthy Direct, Simply Supplements or maybe ZipVit.

to try to prevent the bites when in India I tried not to smell of anything so used simple soap and roll on deodorant with no fragrance and found it to be a great success, although didn't stop the flea bites !

We used Vitamin B complex tablets from about 3 weeks before travel and during our vacation last year. We backed this up with a good repellent during the evening. It seemed to work but it may be that the mozzies just weren't around.

Yeah Skippy, I heard that too. Marmite has after all got vitamin B12, yeast extract & thiamin in it. I tried Marmite last year but found it disgusting, it's too salty as far as I'm concerned.

    Marmite ingredients are as follows:

    Yeast Extract
    Salt
    Vegetable Extract
    Niacin
    Thiamin
    Spice Extracts
    Riboflavin
    Folic Acid
    Celery Extract
    Vitamin B12

I thought vitamin B might the best to take but I've also heard that brewers yeast is also quite effective but I wasn't sure which would be most efficient. I may end up getting some vitamin B complex £6.07 x 360 at Simply Supplements unless someone can suggest otherwise.

Tea tree is supposed to be a good insect repellent, but I haven't seen it as a food supplement.

Yeah, but how effective is it? I think taking a supplement would be a better choice but my concern would be having to take it while on vacation as mentioned above. Though this shouldn't be a problem I suppose as long as you've got the right documents for taking medications abroad I guess.
