Registry office help

Hi,

My wedding venue for next March has recently gone into administration. I have been looking and cant find anywhere so far that will meet my budget so am considering the registry office. The problem is I have never been to a registry office wedding so have a couple of (probably incredibly daft) questions
Is the service the same as a civil service in approved premises (ie able to have readings etc)
Would it be appropriate to wear a dress with a long train (I have already ordered a dress and paid the deposit.

I got married in a registry office on 1st May, My dress was as traditional as can be!

With prior arrangement with the registry office i'm sure you would be allowed to have readings (although nothing religious is allowed) and i know you are even allowed to change vows, with notice and choose your own music. The only thing with my registry office was that photo's were not permitted during the actual ceremony itself but it was ok to video it, and they gave us plenty time after the ceremony for pics HTH x

We've got a booklet with the ceremony text to alter/adapt as we see fit, and three choices for vows - traditional wordy/traditional with the big words cut out/modern basically and I'm pretty sure there's space for the readings and stuff if we want them. Ours doesn't allow pictures during the wedding but have a gap in the ceremony for them from what I remember.

We had a registry office wedding... and it was sooo much more better than I imagined!

If you give them a ring or pop in to see them I'm sure they would answer any questions you may have. It does seem that each one has there own rules. We were allowed to have photo's done during the ceremony by our photograher... although they didin't turn out too great due to the lighting in there.
