    Xmas Saver!
Hello, I guess most people know me, I seem to be spending half my life on MSE, I love bargains, getting orgainised, I have all the birthday presents (bar mum, dad+ dd), done.

    Xmas is coming along well.

I'm the one who is addicted to Halfcost, its brilliant and for anyone who does go on, in the discount box, enter FF15 and it takes 10% off the total.

As my daughter would say I kick off for England, I have been known to complain!!

My friends call me a legal scam artist, if its legal I'll do it!!.

I might as well blow my own trumpet, I have a famous daughter, 2 yrs ago she was the famous Miss Hoodie, (she was famous in every national paper, even as far as Southern Ireland, ITN News at 10,national Radio)
and more recently she helped save my mums life when she had a mini stroke. (our local paper and she made 3 lines in the Sunday Mirror).

As for the thread splitting, its just as it originally started, and once we all get use to it, in a weeks time everybody will be back to normal.

    To me -
This thread, apart from organised xmas, celebrations, hints and tips, bargain suggestions, making and creating being that cards, presents, gifts etc..... and a good chat

Jammys thread- How to make the money, how to be neutral, how to find those hidden loopholes, how to help each other, how to get points, running totalsetc and a good chat.

Over the time when it was single threads and then all in one I have made some very good virtual friends, and I have shared my troubles recieved great support and wouldnt be without you all on here.

No ebay funds on that yet, all from cashback, bingoport, surveys etc. Thanks for the praise :o

    To add about bingoport.
    • validate your mobile & email addys & you get 500pts each
    • You HAVE to play a few games if posting on the forums, or you can be booted off.
    • You can now have 2 people in the same household signed up as long as they validate seperate mobile numbers & email addys
Sorry to ask, when did they do that, mum had her own account, seperate email, and phone but it was closed down as I was told one account per household.

(Just dont want you getting your account closed unless they have changed the rules) x

Im not too sure yet Jammy, my little 2 want to go to Benedorm :o they watched the tv series :rotfl: and have never been on a normal package holiday..... So only Spain or Majorca but a weeks all inclusive sounds just what the dr ordered ;)

I'll swop ur 2 children for my 1, we went to Tunisia over Easter 2weeks all in, as she had her wrist band she wanted a brandy and coke!! She now wants to go to Cyprus so we can take a day flight to Egypt (back in 2005 that day trip £200), and go and swim with the dolphins, Mexico preferably (where I went b4 I had her), or Dom Rep(I did dolphin encounter in 2005),

I'll just go and find the nearest money tree, anyone want to join me on the hunt!! xx

Right here goes but I think you lot will be thinking 'does this girl have a life..!!??' after you see my money neutral update. All my birthdays and even my dd's birthday party is neutral so far.:T

    THis is where I'm at:
    Toluna 44,280 points (60,000 = 10pounds)
    one poll 32.30
    Lightspeed 1130points (approx 10.00 voucher)
    IPSOS 1,325 (approx. 10.00 voucher)
    Valued opinions 4.50
pigsback 1,290 (Approx 10 pounds too)
    coke zone 353 points
paypal through pinecone research nothing at the moment
Boots nothing worth mentioning right now
    Tesco approx 25 pounds
    Panelbase 8 pounds
    yougov 5.50
    Quidco 84p
    topcashback 21.88

    bingoport - 2902 points
Have a 20pounds hmv gift card (give to brother for christmas)
Have a 10pounds argos gift card

I did a car boot sale the other weekend and so I made 110pounds which I have put towards dd's birthday. I also made another 16ish pounds at music magpie. I am about to order a fridge freezer from boots in which I get 50pounds worth of advantage points but trying to find a double points voucher and wondering if they'll allow me to use it - if I can this will sort all the women in the family:j

I have quite a few presents put away in the cupboard towards christmas and birthdays. I found the whole set of james bond dvd's for my dh for christmas for 50pounds which is a great deal as they normally go for 150 pounds.(still have to make this neutral though).

Been meaning to start qype and dooyoo with doing reviews but haven't got started.
Getting into daily clicks, just need to be a bit more organised with it.

I'm up for the five things on ebay challenge - I need to do this but I'm one of those who can never get started on it (I find listing boring too!!!)

Jumps in quick - big splash - mum2one does belly flp!!

Just a quickie, only do Qype when they have a special offer on otherwise your reviewing for nothing, I know Jamtart and me both had £50 Amazon vouchers and £50 virgin vouchers from them. x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • hey all - can someone help....what is it you all put in your spreadsheets? sorry if that seems a little thick :/

I was just thinking that I possibly did a good job so far of being money neutral. I've got over £100 in amazon vouchers, bought 3 dvd's for presents with a hmv voucher - still got a £12 voucher to spend, as well as a £10 off pigsback. hmm just to think about it i have quite a lot of vouchers still.. not being very thrifty with money just now - i'm trying to buy a lot of stuff when i see them for mum and dad's anniversary - but with my survey money i've been receiving and bview money I've bought few gifts for them and for my hubby for our anniversary (only a few days apart from mum and dad's and my granny and grandads in june) eek

ahh sorry i've rambled on - id just like to keep track I wish I had from the beginning of the year but it's not too late to start now.

    any help wold be good.

Just a couple of extra suggestons / ways I use

    Qype - REVIEW SITE
althought they have a bonus scheme, where you get points, theres 3 levels and you have gifts, but avoid unless they have a speical offer previuosly had £50 amazon voucher, £50 Virgin voucher.
I'd give them 8/10 - slow with vouchers and had to be chased

    BView - Review site
You do think 10 or 20 reviews, then ask to be ungraded through the scales, that way you get paid more, basis is 10p per review (100 words).
(When they originally started last yr 50p a review), you get paid once a month, cheque or paypal
Id give them 10/10, theyre brilliant

    Voucher sites - Questionaires
Valued Opinions - request at £10.00 pd in vouchers
Home of research - £20.00 cheque
Valued Opinion Points 1,000 points,( weird amount get paid £24.50 or something like that)

In all honeslty there hit and miss, as the old saying goes one persons poison another persons meat - whether you fit the profile, you do get scanned out a look

    Daily Clicks
Quidco - price runner - can do 2 per day, also 1 off clicks, I have a list, get it updated and on midweek
10/10 site - get paid by bacs

    Mutual Points
In all honestly this site is not as good, your doing daily clicks not reistering, hold fire for now

    Toluna
You do an intro that gets you say 2,000 points then you do "sponsered polls" most are only 15 points, and you need 60,000 points to redeem £10 Sainsburys/ £12 Halfords /£10 Amazon

    You Gov
They send you invites to yake part in surveys, on average surveys are 50p each, but they do mot pay out until you get £50. (2 years on I'm only on £27), again its a profile survey.

    Ebay
I apologise if it looks like I'm preaching to the converted, but its tips i picked up from a TV presenter on one of this BBc1 sell ur items show.

Listing - Obviously as much info in title, size, new, used, price etc

Listing as much detail as you can if its a ladies suit, length of skirt, is it elasicated waist / button zip / name of store (Next, Evans etc).

Aim for the auction to end on a Saturday or a Sunday afternoon, that way more people are liable to be at home and the last minute bidders can have a price war

10 day listing wed - end on Sat, or Thurs to end sun
7 day, sat - sat, sun - sun

again this sounds daft - but avoid 5p /10p/ free listings day, as everyone will route through draws, wardrobes, etc, so instead of competing against 1 similar item, your competiting against 10, buyers are in the best position

    Other tips
Anyone on pay and go phone top up at Boots, using advantage card, basic day you get 4p back in £1.00, they regulary have double and triple points

    Photo Processing
    Take advantage of introductory offers,

eg Snapfish, (part of Jessops), 20 free prints, collect from store for free, or postage 99p

PhotoBox ? (On Quidco) free 50 photos just pay for postage,

MORE THAN ONE ADULT IN THE HOUSE-
With the exception of Bingoport and Golbal Opinion Points, should there be more than one adult in the house, they can have their own email addy, therefore you both take advantages of the offers.

    SPENDING MONEY -
I am absolutely addicted to halfcost, its basically sells overmakes etc, from catalogues, studio, ace cards, argos, betterware etc.
The stock gets added on a friday, if you spend under £50 the P+P is £3.95, free over £50
Discount code FF15 gets you 10% off orders.

Apologies ladies for such a long post, brain keeps comeing up with all these suggestions.

Thanks mum2one, although you have now made me addicted to halfcost :D
My shopping days will never be the same again :D
    ..xx
I am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A

mum2one -- Yeah I've been waiting for a bonus like the amazon and virgin deals to come up with qype. I missed the last two which I was gutted about. So I will hang fire there. Thanks. Good advice there re ebay and selling to finish on a weekend - makes sense.
