DWP Interviews ( West-Midlands)

I have an interview in June. I have passed the literacy and numeracy tests, and was wondering if you are able to halt your application, and maybe restart it at a later date? The reason being is that I have been successful with PCSO recruitment, and just waiting a medical and start date.
Can I ring the DWP and cancel my interview, and restart my application at a later date if all didnt go too well with the police? Its just that I dont just not want to turn up for the interview, as I dont want to waste peoples time!
Cheers, Matt0 -
Always use the I did, I thought, I considered etc and don't generalise things.
Make sure you use a specific event - don't say I always make sure I do this or that - take one event and explain from start to finish what the problem was, what you did and what the outcome was covering as many of the indicators as you can.
If you are unsure at any point ask if you are going in the right direction.
The interviewers have no idea who you are or what you have done previously so all candidates are scored on their evidence of the four competencies and their communication skills at time of interview0 -
Thanks everyone..
I have got an interview tomorrow, I thought i was covering all the relevant criteria, obviously I'm not.
Has anyone asked for feedback?
And how long did it take for them to get back to you?0 -
I have written to DWP for feedback but not received anything as yet. Had another interview today, so without knowing where I went wrong last time, presume I will receive my rejection letter once again !!
Tried my best and again related work experience to their questions.
Will probably receive the feedback now its too late !0 -
I received a feedback letter last week. It was two pages long and the competency scores were listed on the front page. It then went on to list each competency followed by a short comment. For example:
'The candidate demonstrated some of the competencies required...'.
There wasn't much detail but I wasn't expecting much anyway. In my own mind I know where I went wrong and I'll be better prepared for my next DWP interview..which is in two weeks time! :beer:0 -
