pay?

started a new job. annual income should be 13410 but got cheque through for first wage and for 8 weeks wage only got 1572 which works out at 190 a week. been on pay calculator websites and they say i should be on 931 net pay per month so does anyone know where the extra money has went to - tax for instance? 190 doesnt seem right.

Your pay slip should show any deduction like tax, NI, pension contributions etc.

Are you being paid weekly or monthly?
Is this your first job in this tax year?
    Did you provide a P45 or complete a P46?
If it is your first wage payment from this job, are you sure it is for 8 weeks?

Looks like you have been taxed at Basic Rate ~ as LV has said, did you complete a P46 or hand in a P45?

What tax code is shown on your payslip?

I don't believe a P45 from the previous tax year would have been of use to your new employer. They would have to rely on the P46.
