Cheapest hunt: Where is the cheapest place to buy baked beans?

Hi all

Tesco Value baked beans (which seem to have improved since I last tried them!) are 29p for a 400g tin.

Aldi also stocks 400g tins of beans for 29p

Can anyone beat it?

Personally I think the best strategy is to wait until Branston's are on 'special' and fill yer boots. Sainburys were selling a 4 pack for £1.19 which actually equates to 29p per can. Far nicer than any value beans we've tasted (and taken over from Heinz as the baked beans of choice by my 'baked beans snob' wife, lol).

Edit: just checked and they are on offer until 12/5/09. Fiill yer boots!

I prefer value beans (prefer runnier sauce, Heinz are too dry) but havent found them cheaper than 29p.

Netto are selling 4 cans of HP Baked Beans for £0.79 at the moment- and just as good as any other brand in my opinion...

Not as cheap as the stores own but Tescos have Heinz beans on special at the moment - 3 tins for £1. Tins of spaghetti are also on the same offer. Personally I prefer Heinz beans but I do think Aldi beans are reasonable - just not quite as good as the real thing.

Only helpful if you're a member but a crate of 24 cans of Branston beans - 5.95 at Costco. Making it just under a quid for 4!

Branston beans are half price in Somerfield at the moment for packs of 4 (I don't like them).

At Tesco they are doing 3 cans of Heinz Beans for £1 - absolute bargain price and yummy, some own brand ones are yuk
