Playing MBNA's LifestyleProtect scheme

I've just had an interesting talk with MBNA regarding their LifestyleProtect.
It's one of these 79p/£100 things but unusually it pays out on events other than unemployment and illness and some of these events are very forseeable.
Purchase of a principal home
Marriage or divorce
Childbirth or adoption
Graduation
Enter full-time education
Retirement
Bereavement
Jury Service.
I asked the man what stops people taking a large balance transfer before such an event and claiming, he said there is nothing to stop you.
Obviously you have to take into account all the fees, interest and the premium, but if your min payment is 5%, then 3 months should more than cover it.
Would be interested to hear from anyone who has expolited such a scheme successfully.

I am sure there is "nothing to stop you", if the insurance pays out (is it just the miniumum) when you want it to is the important thing.0
