Aldi wine- check the shelf labels!

had a vrowse around the new Aldi in town, some interesting items there.. though they could do better with wine display-
many packed so close together, with labels either above/below, who's to say which price goes with which bottle, as they look alike!
also- check the size- what i thought was a bargain at £1.59(!) was actually just for a small (25ml) taster..
methinks there is better value at nearby independant shops..
(2 for £5, and FULL size bottles!)

Once you get over the labelling, Aldi is a good store I find.
The price is usually on the shelf above the product in Aldi (and Lidl I think) - which can be confusing if you're used to practically any other shop in the UK!
As with every shop and product, it's always worth reading the label on both the shelf and the product to check you've the right flavour, size, style for the price. When I worked in a supermarket, there were lots of offers which applied only to certain flavours....... people would buy the wrong flavours and complain to me. While I sometimes thought "It's not my fault you can't read", if the shelves aren't tidied the products can get mixed up very easily.
General rule of thumb - ask! Present the product at the checkout for a price check..... and decide then if you want it! :-)
Take carePlease note: I am NOT Martin Lewis, just somebody else called Martyn that likes money saving!0 -
