Hello peeps.
The other day, I cleaned my brushed stainless steel splashback with flash wipes (knew it was a stupid thing to do whilst I was doing it but hey ho) now there are little rust dots all over it.
Can I get it off somehow - I have bicarb, bar keepers friend and baby oil kicking around if any of these will be of use

Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j

I would be tempted to try WD40 as it is liquid, and will not scratch the stainless steel. Both bicarb and barkeepers are scratchy (technical term). We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.0

Autosol chrome polish for cars is brilliant on stainless splashbacks (but hard work for a big area)It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I have removed rust marks from my stainless steel sink using the Magic Erasers made by JML that they used to sell in Woolies. Think ASDA sell them now. You just wet the eraser and rub - no chemicals needed.0

Just a word of warning I once used a weak solution of bleach on a S/S sink top, it had this rusty look to it also, we have used stainless steel cleaner, most of it has now gone.
Normally, stainless steel does not corrode uniformly as do ordinary carbon and alloy steels. However, with some chemicals, notably acids, the passive layer may be attacked uniformly depending on concentration and temperature and the metal loss is distributed over the entire surface of the steel.acid at some concentrations are particular aggressive towards stainless steel.
Hope this helps.0
