HELP PLEASE - Suspicious holiday win with great escapes

Hi

I just got a call from a young lad at Great Escapes to say I have won a holiday to Tenerife.

He spoke very quickly and I heard mention of £99 but not sure what that was.

He asked a lot of questions and seemed to want me to make up my mind as to who I was taking immediately. I said I didn't know who until Tuesday next week.

he then said it was only open til Sunday night but I wasa adamant he then said he could hold it over until then.

Not sure whether this might be a timeshare thing or not and I could so do with a nice holiday even if it is in a self catering appartment.

Any advice gratefully received he said he would ring again on Tuesday.

Thanks

Sound like it could be this lot: http://www.greatescapeholidays.com/CMS/Topic/View.aspx?topicid=gehtermsandconditions (there's another company with the same name that sound pukka). Do the T&Cs tie with the questions you were asked? No experience of them, though.

    EDIT: Almost certainly: http://promotions.greatescapeholidays.com/CMS/Topic/View.aspx?topicid=gehpholidaypromotion

I had a similar call a while back that I mentioned as a scam. Telling me I had won a £99 holiday. Not many holidays you can get for £99!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

Thanks Happy Pig & Wingobins it definitely sounds like that one but I wouldn't have entered a comp like that so they must have an affiliate company with a comp running.
I don't live with anyone so I wouldn't qualify which is why I am darn sure I never entered it.
    Thanks anyway.

Their site suggests an affiliation with cottages4u, who are involved in quite a few competitions (realhomesmagazine, baby website, etc) so it may just be that you missed a 'third party' checkbox somewhere.

Hope you get a real win real soon!
