As upstanding, responsible citizens, we all have a duty to report benefit fraud to the authorities.
https://secure.dwp.gov.uk/benefitfraud/
This website makes it easy to report those you suspect of fraudulently claiming money from the State. It allows you to remain anonymous, and is a key tool in assisting the government in their high-profile quest to cut down on waste and inefficiency in the public sector.
I've just reported Jacqui Smith and Baroness Uddin for expenses fraud. If you want to do the same (apparently, the more people who report a fraudster, the greater the likelihood of an investigation being launched), it takes about 5 minutes.
For information:
Jacqui Smith's full name is Jacqueline Jill Smith, her DoB is 3rd November 1962, her eye colour is blue, her address is a matter of some confusion (but you can put House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA), and she earns £294,549 (£141,866 Minister's salary, £152,683 in expenses).
Baroness Uddin's full name is Manzila Pola Uddin, her DoB is 17th July 1959, her eye colour is brown, her address is also a source of some uncertainty (so use House of Lords, London SW1A 0PW), and her earnings are not a matter of public record (though we can assume she does alright, with a number of non-executive directorships and very little rent to pay). In addition to the housing allowance fraud, you might also like to point out that she also claims the maximum daily allowance for attending the House of Lords if it involves staying away from "home" - in 07/08 she claimed almost £30,000, equating to 179 days attended (whic is a little odd, as the House of Lords sat on only 164 days in the same period).
So come on, citizens - it is up to us to report these fraudsters. The Home Secretary wouldn't want it any other way...

Hey, would you like that tramp guy behind you in the trenches 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

I'd be right at the very front having a go;)
The exact opposite of all the people who just sit back and let the people at the front do everything for them and sort everything out for them.
I wouldn't want any of the sort who just rely on everything being done and provided for them and blaming everyone else for what's happening.
That's the difference;)0 -
if yuo cant beat them then join them, how do i become a MP? we should all jump on the bandwagonBlessed on 18th February 2014 at 0814 with little Sarah xxx0

The list is far too long unfortunately, here's another...
Labour backbencher Margaret Moran.
The Luton MP reportedly spent £22,500 of taxpayers' money treating dry rot at her seaside house, 100 miles from her constituency – days after switching her "second home" to the address. The parliamentary authorities were concerned the work broke the "spirit" of the rules, but the claim was not blocked.
Over four years, Ms Moran also spent thousands of pounds on three properties, switching between Westminster, Luton and Southampton and renovating each in turn.
This is totally unbelievable. She should be charged.
When the country is on it's knees they have been taking the pi$$ royally0 -

Unfortunately it's quite a task at the moment it helps if you are female and/or have a disability and/or are an ethnic minority.
If you are a student you best join a political party and get nominated in some position. (Not actually advised unless you want to spend you entire life working in the public sector or self-employed.)
If you are an adult then it's a long slog with lots of brown nosing. And if you want to become a Tory candidate you are expected to buy a home in the consituency.
I suggest you look at becoming an MEP the perks are much better for example as a British one you get not one but two pensions.
Both paid for by the UK tax payer - one in full and the other with the help of the other tax payers in the EU. Plus you have the advantage nasty leaks showing that you spent money on a bath plug, adding Tudor beams to your "second" home or renovating your kitchen aren't allowed.
:rolleyes:I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I would advise everyone that if they are looking to report benefit fraudsters then you should look at GYpsies and New Age Travellers.
Especially those that claim to do driveways and fencing etc - it is very likely they insist on cash in hand and do a shoddy job without declaring tax. They may also claim dole monies.
If they weren't able to get away with as much as this they might go back to a more normal life, and get proper jobs - this contributing to the economy and society that they do so much damage to.0 -

Seriously, do you really believe some of the stuff you write or do you make it up as you go along as I suspect?
"cash in hand" is paid by people who want to participate in tax evasion/avoidance.
As for a "proper job" could you please explain to me exactly what one is?
Could they all be:
Politicians
Bankers
There is little left of manufacturing jobs & mostly the only low skill positions available is work in supermarkets.
Although I agree with some pieces of your posts at times I can also say that your statements have no thought & substance just like I can of the above.
The OPs post is about Politicians declaring war on benefit thieves but thieving themselves.
I call them thieves because that is what they are & it is plain to see from the rules that they are breaking & it is there in black & white.
Yet these same people tell us its wrong to take what you are not entitled to.
What has that got to do with Gypsies & New Age Travellers is beyond me....
Its certainly beyond you.Not Again0 -

You are such an ignorant !!!! that I can't take anything you post seriously.
Gypsies have been around for centuries so it is their normal way of life.
The new age travellers I've met have parents who are wealthy like MPs.
Strange as it may seem different people in society value different things.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

What's the point
. Nothing will ever be done. It's obvious that the government will get away with it because there is one set of rules for them and another for us plebs. This Orwellian nightmare has finally come to pass and there isn't anything we can do about it . 0
