Hi Dottyanne, They can and will persue the debt, you would have signed a credit agreement when first taking out the catalogue. If you are struggling to make payments, then your best option is to stop using the catalogue, write to them explaining your situation, that you wish to close the account and what you can afford to pay each month. They will probably try to claim you cant do this, but you can, just make sure you send a payment each month of what you can afford.
We were in the same position, I have managed to keep payments up and have almost cleared the debt, as the catalogue is in my partners name I cant close the account, but I have told him that once it is cleared, it is his responsibility to pay it if he buys anything. My attitude now is if I cant afford to pay cash for it I dont need it now.
