GE Money/Burtons default notice

Hi , moved this from another section as i think i put it in the wrong bit.In 2006 i recieved what i believed to be a default notice from burtons after missing 1 months minimum payment.Had been paying ok for 2 years prior to that and ever since til soon closing the account and cutting up the card.I'm sure it was served under the 1974 act and was in big bold red letters.I thought i needed to miss 3 in a row to get defaulted so phoned burtons and the guy said 'its not what you think sir, its an internal default just for GE Money and future dealings with us , it won't go on your credit file, my advice to be honest would be just ignore it sir'.I took him at his word but since coming on here i've gotten worried that that doesn't exist. Not been brave enough to check credit file til now, would it be worth getting it removed? assume it would have been satisfied at next payment date, or did i get an imitation default that was like a warning?.Should i have been defaulted after 1 months missed payment?.My mum got defaulted by RS Alliance after trying to take the car DD 3 times in a day , so can see why they did that , i pay bank slips anyway. i have heard people requesting their default like an access request, well GE Money dropped burtons and now santander do the credit for them so if they can't provide it can it be scrubbed off?

I would say the 1st thing you need to do is check your credit reference files, there may not even be a default there.
