    Very intriguing present posted to us from brother and SiL one year. Small, odd shape, very slight rattle, couldn't fathom it at all! Poked it, prodded it, sniffed it, all but tore the wrapping off it before the festive day. And it was

    A CHEQUE!

    folded and rolled small enough to fit into an empty plastic pill bottle.

    So while sending a cheque may not be the most scintillating thing to do (and of course you can't 'cheat' and spend less than it looks as if you've spent), you can still surprise people!
