I wanna...Hair Colour protection

How come I can get shampoo/conditioner and variuos other hair products specially formulated to prevent coloured hair from losing the colour and shine... BUT these are available for blondes, redheads and brunettes only... what about someone who's hair is coloured black? how do they prevent the colour from fading?? are the hair-product companies discriminating or somewhat judgemental about people with black hair then? just wondering

i spose because more people dye their hair the other colours than black. i dye mine a bluey black, and it always fades really quick. have noticed poundlands selling some imported pantene from china or somwhere specially for black hair (i took the bottle top off and the shampoo and cond was a black colour so i presume its got a very very slight colour building effect) ...also those toners you buy that are supposed to last 2 washes, well they dont they seem to take really well so i use those in between colours if its starting to go brown again..i really dont believe all this stuff about one shampoos loads better than another because of the name, i have tried practically all the salon brands (conditioners too if you look at my other posts, frizz ease etc) and frankly, they are all as crud as each other. the best one i have found which i am using at the min is for black peoples hair, called dark n lovely, its like washing your hair with cream and straightening takes half the time after, i didnt even need to use 10 diff serums (shock!)Fr. You say you r using dark n lovely? isnt that stuff too strong? does it have some sort of straightening ingredient in then?
I am just trying to be very careful with what stuff i put in my hair, I colour it once every 6 weeks, blowdry and straighten daily... stuff that i know is all really bad for my hair, especially considering the fact that i have very fine thin hair and might end up bold when I'm a little older... scary thought!!!** i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay **0 -
noo the dark n lovely is just a shampoo with conditioner, a bit like wash and go but much less chemicals and more proteins, my hair is a brillo pad but after using that i dont even need to use conditioner which i could never have done before, i just would have ended up with an afro. i also use hair oil which a lot of indian women use, makes hair much easier to straighten, its only a pound from an asian shop and smells gorgeous. the ethnic hair products have much less chemicals in than western ones and dont strip your hair (anything with sodium laureth sulphate in which is 99.9% of shampoos) strips the natural oils off your hair, so i cant understand why several well known anti frizz products contain this. i havent tried it but the body shop sell about 4 shampoos with no sodium l.s in as do lush..honestly my quest for non brillo huge hair is never ending lol! (and im told by my black friend that afro hair can get really dry and brittle so their products are formulated with much more oils, proteins, extracts etc than white peoples shampoos)Fr. Naturally my hair is very very dark brown, though I now have a tint to disguise the odd grey hair!!
I go to the hairdressing college every 5 weeks to have it professionally coloured to stop build up etc.
I always shampoo my hair daily with either L'oreal colour defy or Tresemme colour shampoo. It protects all coloured hair. I also condition with Treseme colour conditioner. This is fab and really softens the hair. Their conditioner for normal and dry is hair is not so good as I've tried it on DD who has long blonde hair.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
