  • Mine's for the Times and is £36 for six months, and a £25 book token for signing up.

I'm not going to renew automatically. Will wait and see what offer I get to re-join.

  • I think originally it was an offer through the post, but to sign up you phone the Times subscription help line (0800 85 45 47). Why not phone and say "a friend got this offer - £36 for six months and a £25 book token - and I've been with you for years and you just keep on putting up my prices".

See what they say. You can always not renew for a week or so and then go back again. Perehaps they'll have deleted your original record and think you are a new customer.

I ring them both up and play one off against the other - usually works. The numbers I use are:

    Daily Telegraph: 0800 55 20 20

    Times: 0800 389 1636

I've paid £1.50 per week for as long as I can remember. We haven't actually changed the paper we read as our newsagent is happy to accept whichever vouchers we have against The Times. Telegraph vouchers are worth more than the Times, so that reduces the cost further.
  • Currently paying Telegraph £52 a quarter - clearly I need to call the Telegraph

My Telegraph sub has just gone up to £59.80 per quarter. I think I'm only paying £36 for The Times. Before I phone the Telegraph to haggle, can anyone paying lower amounts post here, so I know what to aim for! Thanks.

what price did you get the subscription for? or has anyone got some good deals? do you get a better offer over the phone than you do online at the times website?
    £4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
    £400 O/D Lloyds TSB
    £2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
    £5070 Black Horse Finance

Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!
  • Hi,

I'm working with the Telegraph, and just thought I'd let you know you can get a quarterly (7 day) subscription for £76.70 which works out at 7 days a week for £5.90

There's more details available on the Telegraph subscriptions site or you can call 0800 33 20 20 .

    I hope this helps.
