Was watching thing on telly thismorning about how many children are injured or killed on our roads (UK as a whole, not just NI) on bicycles and was thinking that as my daughter now cant wait to get out every night on her bike with her chums, we should get her doing her cycling proficiency, but does anyone know where it canbe done? Perhaps it doesnt exist any more? I remember as a child (yes, I can just about remember that far back;)) that it was a real badge of honour to have completed the course. Thanks for any suggestions!
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T

Okay what about girl guides/ brownies? or even ask at the youth club!
If that fails I would ring your local Roads Service or Council maybe even the PSNI.....they have loads to do with roads safety schemes!! What about the education board, if schools have the test in place then my thinking would be that the education board would have to have something to do with it???
Just a few ideas.......maybe usless routes....but no harm in ringing!!:jIm going to be frugal:j:DIm going to be frugal:D;)Im going to be frugal;)Beetlejuice Beetlejuice...................:rotfl:0 -

Hi, I'm a primary school teacher and have been involved in the cycling proficiency scheme in the past. My understanding is that the DOE Road Safety education team (in NEELB board they are based in Ballymena) contact each school offering for one of their road safety officers to do the course in the school. It is up to the school to accept/decline the offer.0
