    Hi Snaggles,
I read about your problem with Ryan and his school today. It makes me very angry and sad for Ryan. Well done for not lamping the head teacher.

Hang on, being a pendant here but surely tunnels are dark because light only travels in straight lines (or reflects off surfaces) and it cant travel round the corners needed to get into a tunnel (unless of course you refracted it with a big prism or something) - so you only need lights because natural light cant get in :D

Thanks - and I would happily leave the housework, but I'm at work first thing tomorrow, and don't get home till 3.30pm.......and Natasha's party starts from 3pm! So unless I want Stu's new 'girlfriend' (he says she's not, but they're spending a lot of time together so fingers crossed!) to see the biscuit crumbs all over my carpet, the pile of ironing on the sofa and my underwear festooned across the radiators, I really need to do something about it tonight! :o

I'd personally like my ex's girlfriend to see my sexy knickers hanging about, preferably off the lapmshades.

Thanks Flowerchild, it was truly horrible. Hopefully it will mean something HAS to be sorted now.

Ryan has slowly told me more about what happened. The whole thing was very badly handled. And it also seems there is a discrepancy between Ryan's version (only his class teacher was present) and the schools version (there was another teacher there who witnessed what happened).

    Hmmmmmm.

Well if I was being pedantic, I would note a pendant is something that hangs off a necklace.

    Like a chav, but different...

Tunnels are dark for many reasons. The primary reason is that the sun is in the wrong position. If the sun was in the tunnel it would be very bright. Also, if our vision was better, there would be sufficient light to see. Also, light doesn't travel in straight lines, it bends around mass - proven by the famous Einstein/Mercury experiment. Also it bends around corners in a process called "diffraction". Also, light could enter the tunnel by penetration - but advertisers stop that sort of thing. Also the word also consists of four letters - all different. Also you should be congratulated on your ability to read this far - one big paragraph and unmitigated drivel can be hard on the eyes.
