05 May 2009
Carers UK has teamed up with Lloydspharmacy to offer carers free health checks at local pharmacies during this year's Carers Week.
With carers twice as likely to suffer ill health than the general population, Carers UK and Lloydspharmacy are taking action to improve carers' health and delivering the free health checkups for carers in over 600 Lloydspharmacies across the UK.
The checks, available during Carers Week 2009 (8th - 14th June), include free cholesterol and heart health checks (normally worth £15) as well as diabetes, blood pressure and lifestyle checks.
To claim, carers need to take a health check voucher into participating pharmacies. Vouchers can ordered by emailing charity@lloydspharmacy.co.uk - however, due to the popularity of the offer, the checks will be available on a first come first served basis!
Participating Lloydspharmacy stores can be found by clicking on the Lloydspharmacy logo below (just remember to tick the 'Cholesterol and Heart Health' Check box as well as entering your postcode - to make sure you find stores participating in the offer).

I emailed days ago but have heard nothing.

How are they going to check that applicants are actually carers? I have a daughter with AS and other probs so I feel genuine enough. Also, a lot of carers are older people who wont have access to the Internet.Ellie
