hi i need advice regarding how to set up a dj system...
im djing in a hall but i've been asked if i can hire another 2 speakers to put in another room so 2 lots of partys can listen to my music at the same time in different rooms...
can any recommend what i shall do?
shall i hire x2 speakers and x2 jack to jack leads so i can plug one jack to my speaker and that way it'll transfer the sound over that way..
or shall i hire x2 speakers, x2 jack to speakon leads and a amplifier so i can connect the two amps together..?
thanks -

You can do either depending on a couple of things
If you connect speaker to speaker, you need to work out the effective impedence and make sure the amplifier can cope with it. 2 8 ohm speaker will be 4 ohm in parallel. Doing it this way means the volume will be the same in each room - assuming same speakers - if one set of speakers has a lower power rating, you can risk blowing the drivers of the lower power speakers
Chaining two amps together is the better solution as you can drive both sets at different volumes.
Finally, if the cable run is long, make sure that the cables are of sufficient quality. He who knows all the answers has not yet been asked all the questions.0
