basically in my house we have 2 laptops the are networked via a wireless router to share files and a printer, we also both access the internet via the router.
I there any way or a program we can use to send messages between each other?
I dont know if it makes any odds but the windows popup message thing is disabled on both machines because we kept getting annoying popups from the net

if you click on the start button > run and type in 'command'. Then type 'net send' it'll give you a breakdown of the other info..
so you'd have something like..
c:\> net send bob (bob being the name of the computer you want to message) hello.
unfortunately i can't test it for you as there's nobody on my network except me0 -
how do i address it to the other laptop?Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

infact you'll need the messenger service on which is what you've disabled. Rather than leave it diasbled you'd be better off downloading a firewall and pop up blocker..
i use zonealarm and the google toolbar.. both free..0 -
all sorted thanksTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0
