NID - I still haven't received a reply from Marbles since their last letter, which went something along the lines of "we have passed your letter to our head of complaints department". This was about a month or so ago I think. I can check tonight when I'm at home if necessary.

Is there any way to get them to get a move on, I am looking to move soon and would like the 5 off my file so I can apply for some credit before I move. I know my credit will be even worse when I do move

It'll take a few days to show, in fact being you've sent the request just leave it on for time being. Wait until Abbey get back to you.....

Just ignore last post, thinking about it having the NOC does mean the mortgage peeps have to manually assess you which could be a blessing in disguise, but similarly just wait til you get some reply before appealing the mortgage

Out of interest, who'd you apply to for the mortgage? I use GMACrfc or MAS No5 - both are self-cert as well so easy to get (well they were lol before the crash!)

    Hey dude,

Letter sent off today at lunchtime with next day signed for. Have copied and filed the receipts :j

Feeling almost stress free now, just going to relax for the next few days and not think too much on it. Hopefully SAR should be here by Monday.

Don't rush them, you have to remain professional and level headed - just let things take their course.... jump in now and you could be left with the late payments for 6yrs so trust me, wait til they get back to you...... :D

Mate, don;t rely on the SAR - mine took 12 weeks to come! Anyway, keep me updated with what happens and yea, you do right - chill out this weekend and see what happens ;)

Catch you next week then :D

I was wondering if somebody could help with trying to remove a default. I used to bank with Abbey, basic account and no overdraft. I succesfully managed to claim back all of my bank charges and moved my banking to the co-op. They then slapped on another £200 in bank charges which I was disputing and ended up in me receiving a default. I ended up partially settling this account by paying £100 as I was being hounded by the DCA.

The default date is 3.5.07 so obviously a long time to wait! Can anybody help me with a template letter?

I do have more defaults, a few to drop off early next year and others which I may try to clear but will see how this one goes first!

Thanks in advance to anybody that can help!

OK, thanks. Just makes me so mad that this 5 shouldn't even be on there and they have me by the proverbial b&llocks

I wonder how long they will take?

Give them about 3 months in total (from my first letter) and it should be gone...... they will probably try and fight it once more, afterwhich they will concede defeat (we hope!)..... just be patient.... when did they sign for the letter?

Mate will be the same for the next 3 weeks so just hang on in there....

Have you been applying for credit? If so stop until this is sorted - you're not helping yourself mate so try and chill out! Someone mentioned you'd been applying - lol.

Just wait a month and see what these muppets say first.... :T

You were disputing the charges and they defaulted you? Are you quite certain about this? Can you post details of what the reason of dispute was, the date of your dispute letter (you know everything needs to be in writing or it almost impossible to prove you agreed in the first pace) and the default date advising who added the default. If it was a DCA then who are they? Did you ever get a termination or default notice from the lender?

You need to read back a page or two and see the likely questions I need to ask, answer these and we'll get the default removed for you (or try).....

I'll then post you a letter to send....
