    Hi All,

New to this so bear with me.....

Got into financial difficulty a number of years back, basically borrowed way too much, however have now paid all these debts up.

Checked my credit report a few weeks back to find I have 3 defaults registered against my name, one of which was by a compnay that I had never heard of - however the details of the account did match that of a loan I did previously have.

The main problem with this account was that the loan's status was "Default" with £5400 outstanding - however I know this loan and it was paid up over 3 years ago.

I started an online dispute for the company (Wescot) to come back saying they had no records or details for me and that I should contact them.

The other two are as follows:

    1) HSBC Current Account - which I was never made aware of being defaulted
    2) EGG Card - again never received any default notice for

Not 100% sure where to go with this, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Spent

Defaults stay on file 6yrs from date issued, so will remain until 2012 or something if you say you're half way through....

Best advice, send a CCA to each creditor (here #30) and see whether they actually have agreements then we'll help move forwards....

Never in doubt can you help me?
I have a default issued by Orange from 2007. I disputed some charges at the time and didn't pay and they have put this stupid default on my account which is causing no end of grief. They claim to have no record of me disputing the charges. I think I may have a chance with the DPA as they issued a default for £47 in 2007 but then refunded mt £15 earlier this year. Surely I couldn't have defaulted if they owed me money?

    Help and advice appreciated!!

    Hiya

I'm still slightly confused as your not really giving me much to work with..... can you bullet point things in order as they happened to help explain it......

Basically if the debt was absorbed into an IVA then they can still add a default as you'd have defaulted on their account.

The fact some have been removed is a good thing, but if they wanted they could come back (until 6yrs)....

UPDATE:Got a letter from Egg today following me sending those two template letters, they agreed in was their mistake, said that due to a 'system error' the default was put back on!!!They have deleted the default, and assure me that they will no longer report any of this data to the CRA's.:T
Checked my Experian and it has indeed gone,on Equifax it still shows, but the data has not been updated since 8th July so will have to check back later, but a BIG thank-you to all the help I have had from here.

I am going to phone Cabot and offer them to pay my balance off in full in exchange for them removing the default from my credit files.

Well they said no but she kept repeating, "it would be satisfied!" I don't think she realised the default would still be there. So I am stuck with it until 2013
