Thanks very much for that NID, though I'm not sure about the CCA thing. I may have requested it originally when I first put my account into dispute over the charges, though I think I only sent a cheque for £1 and that was to Capquest for some info as my account was with them at the time. Should I take out the bit about the CCA or leave it in?

Just leave it in..... they won't be able to prove/disprove it...... :D

Send this letter, with a photocopy of the one you received from Tom Lewis, and send it recorded and send it today/tomorrow! Do not allow delays as all delays give them a chance to cross mail in the post which could be detrimental.

    Send it asap!

It is 8,from May 08 backwards 8 months!!!This is only on the Callcredit file,on Experian it is a Green 'U'.For same debt.
Have noticed on Callcredit only,a whole raft of red cirles with '6' in them,(47) fromDec 02 at March 06,says 'Settled' at Apr06,fromParagon Finance,no idea as to who they are.

Hi NID,any advice on this one please.Cheers.;)

    Hiya

So the only problem is on call credit, experian and equifax are clear are they? If so this isn't too bad as no1 uses CC much and so i'd not risk them adding anything to the main CRA's......

Regards to the defaults, there can only be one default - the red 6 month late payment markers i'm unsure of, but assume you were 6mth late in repayment somewhere along the lines?

To establish facts, contact Call Credit and request names, account numbers and addresses of the companies that have posted the adverse data - they have to supply it to you as they are publishing it as the data processor.

Regards to the defaults, only one default per debt is allowed - so you can them all wiped really - i'd wait though until you have clarity as to who these people are and what the accounts are for - without this info not a lot anyone can do.... pointless demanding removal of default, as you need to do this to the company that put it on - not the CRA. If you don't know who added them, or who paragon is we can't write to them....

    cheers

Hi again,NID,sorry, missed the post you put up!
So,I have 8 default markers on my Call Credit from Egg,even though its 'satisfied'.
How can I get rid off,as the they are for last year, the debt was settled before that,so its showing as a default in the last 36 months on Call Credit's system,as a GREEN 'U' on Experian, and as a 'default' in April 06 on Equifax, but 'S' in May 06,so defaults still showing up when its cleared. If it makes it clearer I had an IVA,finished that 2years ago, paid back over £880:00 a month, everyone has cleared the files except Egg,and this mystery Paragon.

    Cheers,I really appreciate your help.:T

Defaults always show up, after the debt has gone (for 6yrs)...... settled, late or satisfied - they are all as bad as each other

So we can't just get them removed, unfortunately. It looks like we need the history and why you got them....

Read back a few pages and see other posts as i'll need the same info before I can do much for you. i.e. why did they default, is it paid, when was it paid, was it charges, did you get default notice, when was the debt taken out, have you had a CCA etc etc....

Just give us some background please mate

Mate you need to read up a bit. We can help you, but can;t do everything - you need to have basic knowledge. read this thread then post when you're upto speed..... will take a day but worth it - you'll learn loads! :D

a CCA is the agreement you signed. Consumer Credit Agreement. a DCA is a debt collection agency, a CRA is a credit reference agency, an FPA is a fraud prevention agency..... ICO is information commissioners office, DPA is data protection act & CCA 1974 is the consumer credit act.

Thats about the main ones we use here!
