Defrosting Mince

Now that would make my 'bung a lump in the frying pan' method quicker as well! Thank you!You could always bag it up and wrap your mince block in a tea towel. Get a wooden rolling pin or heavy object and smash it up a bit to aid defrosting.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Yeah....I'm with the "cook it from frozen is fine" brigade. It's not pork or chicken, which I'm ultra careful about.
My theory is that it's fine to cook burgers from frozen, so why not minced beef, which is for all purposes the same stuff? Just mash it up as it goes brown on the outside! People eat almost raw beef as steaks or even steak tartare (ugh!).
ALL meat I eat has to be cooked thoroughly, can't stand a bit of raw in anything...eeew!0 -
my mum always used to cook it straight from frozen too and it was fine. ;DIt's not WHAT you know, it's WHO you know0
