This may be of benefit if you work in an office or have job interviews lined up.
This morning I went to the Tesco store in Bangor (Gwynedd) and noticed that they had a blue cross sale in the clothing department offering a further 25% off sale items. In the menswear section there was a rail of assorted suit jackets and trousers. My past experience is that when you get one of these sales either the jackets and trousers don't match or the trousers only go up to a 28" waist and the jackets start at a 48" chest but lo and behold I managed to find a matching suit in my size. This was admittedly a value range suit but the jacket had been reduced to £9.50 and the trousers to £4.00 so with the 25% blue cross discount I was expecting to pay a bit over a tenner which would have been a bargain. However when I went to the till the jacket scanned at £3.75 and the trousers at £2.25, i.e. six quid for a suit! The till op called a supervisor to check this and was told that as long as the till wasn't overcharging then put them through at that price.
There were quite a few jackets and trousers left but it's probably a bit pot luck as to whether or not you can find a matching set in your size but if you can this has got to be the cheapest suit on the market.

I don't want to sound like a cheerleader for Tesco (I much prefer Asda) but although these are value range suits they don't look all that bad. There was a selction of colours and designs, ie plain and pinstripe. Asda on the other hand have a single style of value suit which does look cheap and nasty. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

I agree with FatAndy. I had a good look at the suits and the plain (£6) ones weren't great quality but the pinstripe were pretty good quality for the price.
They were marked at £45, on offer at £30. With the blue cross sale (25% off) and then VAT reduced. I think they took the 25% and the VAT off the full price, then took the £15 reduction. So I bought the pinstripe trousers for £5.25 and the jacket for £11.62. A suit for a fifteen year old giant for £16.87. Which is a great price considering he probably won't fit into it in six months time.
