Freezing Danish Pastries

Is it possible to freeze them? I was in Asda last night near to closing and there were loads of them all reduced to 18p for 2. I took a couple of packets but it made me so sad to leave them there on the shelf, alone and uneaten.... Managed to pick up plenty of reduced bread but it just wasnt the same...

According to "The Encyclopedia of Home Freezing" you can freeze Danish Pastries, for three months, although they say if there is glace icing on them, it may melt when defrosted!
Hope this helps for the next time you find them reduced! :)

yes you can.We have done it when we go to costco and buy a pack of 12 (4 in our family) . Remember to seperate them as they will break if you try to pry them apart whilst frozen

yep i freeze, i just wrap in greaseproof paper to keep seperate, and then in a freezer bag. keep well for 3 months, but after that they not as nice, unless you warm them to soften.

I used to freeze these often when I belonged to Costco! Had to buy them and they are too tempting to leave them out so I had to hide them in the freezer before we scoffed the lot!! ;D

Oh yes! Had to do this also for above reasons! :D

Just allow to defrost (or not if desperate!) We used to buy them by the bag 20 for £1 back in the late 70's tho!
