Hi
Yes, it's for a car. Have had the HP for 20months now.0 -
I thought that my agreement was HP but it turned out to be a loan so thus not secured on the car (so i can seel it now and the loan company wouldn't care as long as they got their cash!)
You can V.T on an HP agreement after a certain time so this may be worth looking into if you can manage with one car?Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10
Aim for 2011 - pay off car loan £260.00 saved

Hi Andy, good luck for tomorrow. Ref the childcare, have you heard of the childcare voucher scheme? You will pay less tax each month.
This needs careful consideration, I am actually worse off a year if I go through the childcare scheme than if I get WTC to help with the childcare costs. For some it is beneficial but really needs to be looked into.
It's good that your EX has now chosen to give you some money towards the schooling of your child. If you do not need to use it straight away for that reason I recommend you put it straight into savings so that it is there each month for when it is needed. Don't leave it in your current account where it can be eaten up in charges and overdrafts. The same with car insurance money and present money put them straight into another account that you can draw from when needed for those reasons.
I read that you grow your own veg and bake your own bread etc. Can you work out how much this actually costs you to produce and maybe bake and grow for family. If you can be cheaper than the supermarkets then you may make a slight profit, it will also mean things don't go to waste.0 -
Hi Andrea
just wanted to say ''well done'' for posting -
me & my hubby are in a very similiar position with unsecured debts - we haven't posted our soa (too scared?) but are tackling them with our own dmp (debt management plan)
worse thing is we both work for banks and if we were too default on the 2 staff credit cards (cira £18K) the i would lose my job or at least face disciplinary.
the first time i posted on here i felt soo much better - like you its a struggle but life does go on.

Wow Sam...poor you! Have you checked that with an employment lawyer?
I hear what you are saying about being scared. I spent so many months worrying and borrowing more and more and just being in tears at the end of the month. Finally facing up to it was the best thing I could have ever done. Speaking to the CCCS has relieved so many of those pressures. They were so good and non-judgemental which was a big concern of mine. Nobody close to us knows about our debts so sharing it on here and with the CCCS has really helped.
Keep going girl and carry on posting.0 -
Thanks again for your replies and great tips. (Going to check out the cheaper broadband now Fire Fox)
Just had my first appointment with CCCS. She was fantastic, really helpful and advised me on stuff that I had no idea about. I feel so much happier, the sun is shining and the birds are singing!
The weird thing is, as soon as I put the phone down to the CCCS, my ex called and said he'd just deposited £200 into my account with another £200 to go in on Friday for the school fees!!! Amazing!!! :j
I'm going to beat this debt thing. It may look like a huge mountain to climb, but I'm going to do it with all you lovely people helping out!!!
Thanks!!
Andrea
Have you ever watched 'My Name is Earl'? Perhaps it's karma ...

Yes, well said. Have a chat with the Tax Credits people and make sure it is beneficial. Not that they would know ehTotallyBroke wrote: »This needs careful consideration, I am actually worse off a year if I go through the childcare scheme than if I get WTC to help with the childcare costs. u really need to speak to an employment lawyer, most solicitors do free initial interview, aim for a big firm so they will have a speicalist dept, the disciplinary or sacking would that be because u have a staff rate on cards?xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Just another thought (sorry), have you got a copy of your employment contract and c cards assosiated with the bank.
If you do go through it will a fine tooth comb, a lot re disciplanary/ sacking may just be gossip or scare mongering.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
