CSA Arrears
5 years ago me and my x wife split due to her search for the ultimate orgasm, she proceeded to go through the CSA for which I did have a problem and they started taking the money direct from my wages and every month for which I didn’t have a problem then 18 months in they tell me I am over 3k in arrears and after a lot of very irrigate phone calls and letter sending from both me and my company the problems we resolved or so I thought over 3 years later they tell me my deductions are going from £375 per month to £616 because I am £3k in arrears.
In all the time they have never chased me for under payment or threaten legal action due to under payments just slapped this on me, and changed my protected earnings from £900 per month to £600 per month so this now leaves me with £980 a month to live on and £650 of that is rent so the time I pay all my bills out I am £412 in the red and that without food shopping etc can anybody advise an independent body I can approach to seek urgent assistance because within 3 months I will be homeless and in deep debt.
Thanks

Hi.
You should start with your MP, then you might like to try NACSA. You can also try ICE but would need more information before I would say yes that is the route to go.0 -
Why would there be protected earnings this is a CSA2 case? It should be 15% for the normal maintenance and 15% for the arrears as this is a DEO.0
-
The protected amount would be 60% of the income that was assessed at the time. If the OP earned less than they were assessed on but did not apply for a reduction due to a change in circumstances, then the amount they could collect would have been less than the amount due - hence arrears building up.0

Have you dealt with their complaints dept as opposed to Customer Services (haha!).
I have recently posted about my sudden deductions as a PWC when they suddenly decided to deduct a large amount without warning as apparently I had been overpayed for the last 3 yrs. Coincidentally the amount quoted is in the 3k mark too!!
Complaints are fantastic - like dealing with a whole other entity lol!! I am awaiting an outcome but at this time it appears that along with many other errors, the computer has made an error with the amount. The amount I have been overpayed is actually around the £600 mark.
There is also a CSA "pot" which I was not made aware of where they pay back the full amount that has been overpaid to the relative party and then the CSA set up a payment plan with you over 2 yrs to pay THEM back the outstanding balance. Should never have just stopped my ex paying me with 3wks notice!
I'm assuming this can work for the NRP too?
Also, the letter I received said the overpaid amount would be collected by Feb 2010. I commented to the complaints worker that it was a good job I phoned or I would be skint till Feb 10 and she said the system showed it was set up to collect until Nov 2011... again in error. She said if I hadn't have queried this I would have paid back way over the odds!!!
So., suppose I am just saying try their complaints dept if you haven'talready. They phoned the day after I lodged the complaint and have 15 days to reach an outcome.
Good LuckI am not a financial expert and I am not perfect but purrleeaassse don't be mean to me if I express an opinion that may not be quite what you thought.
