We've got (another) new board! Can you help me plan please?!!

Afternoon chaps,

Can help me plan a few days away please? I'm in Nottingham, want to go somewhere by the sea, but a little more classy than my beloved Skeg. I don't drive so it would ideally be within three (at a push four) hours on the train.

Don't you just love new things! :p

Thank you please!

How about Southport? You'd also be able to take a train ride to many places including: Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Blackpool.

Let me tell you about Southport.

    1/ There is nothing there.
2/ the sea doesnt come in, in fact the sand is about 1345674356 miles wide
3/ its full of old biddys
4/ when the sea does come in, it floods the town :rotfl:
5/ when the sea does come in, once a decade, its a horrible dirty brown colour
6/ there is definately nothing to do there, except eat in a dingy cafe
    7/ the fairground is rubbish
8/ the amusement arcades arent much better
    9/ erm.......

    Yes, I love Southport

Thanks guys, but one thing I forgot to mention ... I need to avoid anywhere around Liverpool!

Haven't been to Llandudno since I was at school, and am surprised that it is only 4hrs on the train. A definite possibility!

Another thing I should have said, I am pretty near East Mids Airport, so overseas is also a possibility!

If I am unable to post for a while now it will be because my other half, a scouser, has seen this reply and done me some damage ;)

Bless! I am actually avoiding it because of a man! Would love to say that the place is big enough for the two of us, but he gets around far too much.

Saying nothing about avoiding it because of one man.... but there are thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of them in Liverpool.

Most still have curly perms, moustaches and say calm down a lot :D

Nice is a good idea, thank you. Will have a look at prices ... when I've got over the image of Liverpool men from nw_man! ;)

You could fly to the Channel Islands - picturesque, nice beaches and things to do.
