Urgent money-making!

Hi All,

I am currently living at home with my mum but due to awful debt problems, we are having to sell our house before we get repossessed! :(

We won't be able to afford to rent a place out together as she would need me to pay half of everything and I'm only on a low income, so we have decided to split up and I am currently looking to rent a room out in someone elses house. The going rate for a room all inclusive of bills seems to be about £450 - £500 a month and up until now I have only been paying £300 a month!

We are guessing we have approximately 6 weeks until we have to get out of our house so I urgently need to find an extra £200 a month plus a month's worth of rent to be able to put down a deposit!!

I have been looking around for other jobs so that I can earn more permanently but the way things are at the moment there just isnt anything going!

Any ideas would be very much appreciated! :D
2019 will be my year!!

If you need money urgently, could you manage a part time extra job to start with? Shop, bar, anything? Once you've got that going, you could then perhaps use what little spare time you have left to line something else up to earn a passive income and build it up so that you can drop the part time job and then your low paid original one?

Have you spoken to the CAB or the council? I know council housing lists are stupidly long these days and you could be waiting months whilst in the mean time put in a horrible hostel.
Are you entitled to benefits? You should really talk to someone about it x

    Hi Kayleighpea,
There are many ideas on here hun from jobs to catalogue dropping and party plan. I currently enjoy running my Body Shop business - it's flexible and I can run it in the day as well as the evenings via parties or catalogue drops, etc. As you can imagine Body Shop is a huge name and so sells itself :D
As I have said there are lots of ideas but if you are interested and want to know more you can email me on jennymartin31@yahoo.co.uk - you never know this could lead to more than you expect hun but £200 extra earnings a month is very do-able with this company :A
    Good luck hun,
    Jenny :A

Thank you all for your advice.

Nigewick - I was doing a weekend job in a pub for a while but I work at least 40 hours a week in my full time job anyway, so I was doing 6 or 7 days a week and only getting about an extra £40 out of it. I was exhausted and it just didnt seem worth it. I guess I may have to go back to that now - desperate times and desperate measures!!

Lyndsey80 - I did the benefits checker on here but came up with nothing :(

JennyJewell - The extra added problem is that I don't drive so doing something like the BodyShop/Ann Summers/Virgin Vie parties and the catalogue deliveries isn't really feasible for me at the moment.

I don't make things easy for myself do i?!

I have started looking into doing the online surveys etc that a lot of people on this site seem to do but that seems to me that its a steady build up over time which i dont have  I think a serious lottery win is in order!!

You don't necessarily need a car to party plan, you decide where and when you want to work.
I do Avon and am lucky enough to deliver to my estate, which isn't very big. Again, you don't need a car as they will give you local areas to post to.
I do think you should go into your local CAB though for advice on housing. At the moment they are very busy what with many people in similar situations, get there a good hour before it opens or you may not get to see anyone, well the one in Leeds is like that!!!
Keep us updated on your situation x

    Hi Kayleighpea,
Just noticed your reply hun - I don't drive either and I'm 35 years old, lol! My hubby drops me to party and my raffle covers my taxi home :) As for deliveries - the two party plan companies that I am involved with both deliver direct to the hostess with guests orders all individually bagged and labelled :) I go out, earn my money, have a fab time in the process, come home - put order in,feet up - job done :)
Hope this helps you hun, good luck :)

Once you have somewhere to live (although if you're going to be paying £500 a month I don't see how it would be cheaper to rent two places instead of one unless there are other not mentioned reasons-have you talked to your local council's housing advice department ?) and if it's somewhere you can have a broadband line it may be worth looking at Arise as you could do that from home working evenings and or weekends -not as tiring as a bar job and a lot more flexible.
