Dress covers

How much does the average dress cover for your wedding dress cost? Or should I say, is one provided with your gown and if so, is it plain or breathable?
The reason I ask is this. As a dressmaker I've had a company approach me and ask if I would like some free samples. Why, of course I would. Problem is I have to buy 50. Now, they are relitively cheap per bag, so if anyone is interested I need at least 30 ladies who would like one to which I would be happy to place an order and then post them on to everyone. £4.99 plus P&P of £1.50
I guess the more I order, the cheaper they are.

Why do you have to buy 50 if they are 'free samples'?
Also, I don't think you will get away with this on here as folk shouldn't be exchanging any personal details. (Payment details/addresses etc).Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I think mine cost about £10 from Johnsons dry cleaners, Pronuptia just put it in a plastic cover when I took it home, but it was an ex-display one and the shop went bust a few weeks later. My one is fabric and breathable.Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

i made my daughters very easy if you have a sewing machine, get 6 yards of sheeting fold it in half and sew each side you can then roll the dress
and all i did was put it on my dressmakers dummy and steam in the bathroom,0 -
They sent me a free sample of 1 of each. If I want any then I need to buy them but minimum order is 50! I don't want to break any rules whatsoever so if anyone is interested pm me and we'll go from there. I just thought to help anybody out and having looked on e bay where you either bid or pay now, but many seem to be £7 or over.
It's just a thought.0 -
TBH the hassle isn't worth it. The sample they've sent is wonderful. 70" long with a bottom gussett. They also do dress boxes so I am enquiring about those. I know they can retail for about £45 so will be interesting to see how much this company charge for bulk. Again, if anyone wants them I'm happy to place the bulk order and distribute. As long as it covers my postage and packing that's fine.i made my daughters very easy if you have a sewing machine, get 6 yards of sheeting fold it in half and sew each side you can then roll the dress

As I've always said. hate the word "wedding" bumping up the cost especially in the current climate.0
