Anyone know where in Central Scotland I can get cheap hardwood logs for my chiminea please.
Will be lovely sitting out at night with the chiminea on, what with the good summer we have been promised:rolleyes:

    if you can get your hands on broken whisky barrels they burn great with very little smoke

    My supply of wood came from builders skips in the past. Amazing what hardwoods they throw out!

    theres a cooperage in the industrial estate at the end of the m74 (cambuslang) might be worth a look there for old broken barrels.

    I got logs from the Garden Centre - used to be called Sandyholmes..but now a dobbies......a big bag for 6 quid

    Just pop in to your local sawmill (Yellow Pages or ask around), they usually sell logs by the bag or the van-load and should be much cheaper than a garden centre etc. Also, take a look in your local papers for adverts....though it's more commonly advertised in autumn/winter.

    We got our logs in a farm between eaglesham and waterfoot its a barn and you can choose your own logs fill up the sack and pay.

    Got a decent sized bag for £3.99 from Crocketts the Ironmongers in Falkirk. Hopefully the weather picks up so we can use them or its soggy logs all round :rolleyes:
