Same here, full of snobs (majority, not all of course). It was 13 years ago I left, but i hated every minute of it.

I suspect that in 13 years it has probably changed! Sorry you had a bad experience though.
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T

He's a boy (!) but generally from the Park Avenue Hotel. There are 2 buses - one does the Holywood Rd and Knocknagoney and the other goes up the Belmont Rd and the Old Holywood Rd

    Sorry about that!
Thank you for the information. That gives me a bit of hope, after all. As you say it does not look too bad if spread over the year.

I went to Sullivan and HATED it with a passion! I only said I wanted to go because my best friend in P7 said she was going - then she didn't get in!!It was a fabulous school academically speaking however if your child is slightly lazy and needs a nudge now and again (as I did), do not expect to get this from Sullivan.
Also, I really felt it was full of very snobbish kids who thought they were better than those at other schools. My parents were not well off and I was unable to attend school trips - I was seriously looked down upon because of this. I fully understood that my parents could not afford it and anyway did not actually want to have to spend my spare time with most of the people in the school, however had I wanted to I can see how a child could be left feeling out of place there.
Also, I was a netball girl and played for the A team. May sound good but we were treated differently to the hockey girls.
I travelled on the bus from Bangor - what a nightmare! Having to get up an hour before my siblings who both went to school in Bangor, being home from school 2 hours after them each day. Standing in the pi&*ing rain waiting for the bus - sometimes drivers would stop, sometimes they would not!
I was recently talking about this with my folks and they asked why I had not transferred to a Bangor school? You know, this had not even occured to me at the time??!

Without belittling Leothecat's experience, don't let that put you off if you're not well off. My parents are not well off, and I never felt out of place, or suffered from others' snobbery at Sullivan. I am also the eldest of six, and all my sibling have gone or currently go there, so I think that says something.
I also travelled from Bangor, and bus drivers do have a mind of their own, but that will be the same where ever you go! :)
