Have you got access to a normal card reader .. to see if bypassing the camera gives you better results?

Did the Lexar card come from a completely trustworthy source? There are numerous reports of fake cards on Ebay, Amazon marketplace, etc, and the labeling can be very convincing.

Typically it won't go wrong until after you reach a key boundary - for example 1Gb, and then suddenly it will stop working properly.

I think there's a fair chance that one of the recovery tools will get most of the photos back. Have you tried Recuva yet? I've not used it but several others on here rate it highly.
  • hi thanks for the advice.. the card came from argos with the camera.... i have tried a few recovery programes but they wont pick the card up in any of the cameras i have .........im am now about to try it in a card reader

Did the card come from a trust worthy source,no it came from argos.
If it is new does it come with any warranty,i would contact argos it might not get your photos back but it might get you a replacement card.
maybee contact lexar they may offer a recovery service,at a price, then send the bill to argos.
I would also ask for a replacment camera too,you never know that could also be faulty(could be a customer return just reboxed and sold again, had that before)
