What juicer extractor?

Hi,
I have finally decided to embrace a healthy life and would like to buy a "juicer".

I am looking for one easy to clean, able to extract lots of juice from fruit and vegetables and chute large enough for apples, etc.

On a similar price, Argos has a Antony Worrall Thompson Professional Juice Extractor (£97) and a Philips £95).

From experience, which one is better?

Many thanks

  • hi i have a magimix juicer, cost me £120 :eek:but have had it for 5 years and it still works well, they come with a 3 year parts and labour guarantee and 10 motor guarantee..

i have had other juicers and they all break down and cant handle hard foods like carrots, this one is the best one, everyone in my familly has one!!

it is easy to claen and goes in the dishawasher too..:T

i did think that paying that much for a juicer was a bit silly at the time but i really dont regret it nowand i would say it is brill.!!:T

I bought the Jack Lalanne one, and do not have a dishwasher-what a carry on to clean it!
I gave it away after a few goes, there was pith and skin everywhere!

Hi My wife and I spend about 3 months going through all the juicers on the market last year and decided on this one

    http://www.bestjuicers.co.uk/products/lequip_minijuicer.htm

Won an award from the Independent I think for best buy.

My friend bought a Philips and the spout kept breaking off, another has had the AWT and likes it if you have plenty of space.

Most people I know with a juicer say that they use it for a while then it goes in the cupboard, so I guess you might need to consider that, the L'equip is compact, pretty tough (I'm notorius for being heavy handed with appliances)and the filter is set at an angle so it takes quite a bit of fruit before it cogs up.

    Good luck.

The Gadget Show recently tested a number of juicers and rated them on a number of areas, including:
    - speed
    - ease of use
    - ease of cleaning
    - performance

They rated the Philips as the best overall.
