Butternut Squash - Aldi/Lidl

I saw an ad last night for Butternut Squash 49p? Problem is I can't remember if it was Aldi or Lidl? I have been on both sites, but can find no mention of it. Does anyone know which shop had them on special? Thank you

probably a dumb question but can anyone give me a idea on what this taste's like and how you prepare and cook it.

It tastes pretty bland on its own, but you can roast it with oil and black pepper and it's lovely. It also makes a cracking pan of soup when spiced up with some chilli or curry powder.

i found mine in asda's last week too (btw, if you like aubergines, tesco have theirs for £1 per kg which i bought loads of).

i tend to have mine roasted with the skin off (use a potato peeler) and chop into big chunks. little drizzle of olive oil and bake in oven for 30mins turn over half way 180 c. serve with feta and green salad. really nice with roasted red pepper in salad as well. or all of these as part of a tortilla wrap with roasted lamb, red onion and green salad. really, really tasty!

soup, risotto is nice too.

I cooked a very yummy Butternut Squash, Chickpea and Spinach Curry last night- very tasty
