Petticoat help!

I asked Ivan at Landy which petticoat they'd recommend to go with this dress and this is the one he's suggested.
What do you think? I know it's a big dress but I don't want to look like a meringue!!!
Would this one from Milly work too? It's £25 cheaper!!!
Also, if you have a petticoat that has a bit of a train, how does this work for later on when you want your train tucked up for the evening?

I think they'd both work - I think the weight of the dress would hold down any froth anyway. Can't help with the train aspect I'm afraid - could you just take the petticoat off for the evening?0

I can't see why the milly one wouldn't go with your dress, looks very similar to me.
Can't help you with hooking it up though because i would of thought that only the dress would hook up.0 -
I actually think the Milly one looks the nicer of the two
Don't know about tucking it up though - It doesn't look too long really, could you not get a bit of ribbon and a popper attached just so the train can be pinned up?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. The second looks better but they could be one and the same.
I'm not a big lover of hoops in petticoats. Full nett is much softer and doesn't give that "swing" (Easier for going to the loo in too. Have you tried manovering a hoop while peeing? Not easy)
The nett in either picture looks sparce and in my honest opinion, doesn't do alot. Pronuptia's used to have a single hoop with lots of nett, single hoop only (for bridesmaids) or 3 tier hoop, (plain or with train) To give it softeness, there should be alot more nett. So, go for full nett or plain hoop.0 -

All of these are perfect for your dress and will give it a much softer look rather than a "lampshade" Hope it helps. x0 -
