ISA and tax

Since the start of March my S&S ISA has increased significantly. I had invested in a variety of funds and stocks via HL. I want to sell those shares and reinvest in commodities.

Are these capital gains tax free? If I now make capital gains in commodities will those be tax free also?

Any investment within an ISA is tax free.

Can you invest in commodities in an ISA? Not sure - if you can't any gains will be taxable. If you can - then tax free.

If you don't know how ISAs work, are you sure you know what you're doing investing in commodities? Just trying to help you.

the UK tax is famed for its complexities and quirks.

of course income and capital gains within an ISA are tax free, but should you sell exisiting holdings to reinvest, would that be also tax free - or is there some obscure tax rule against it i.e. you are constitued to be trading etc.

    no harm confirming beforehand.

    commodities via an ETF.

As long as everything is done within the ISA then it's tax free.
