offered one year contract

Hi
I may be getting offered a one year contract which will increase my disposable income for creditors from £127 per month to around £900.
I am still going through the process with my creditors. How do I approach them IF I am offered a fixed term contract. Can I say "This is what I can pay for 12 months and then back to what I have offered" or do I make additional payments for those 12 months.
I do still want a full time job , but a 12 month contract will allow me to hopeully put a massive dent in the debts I have. with part time work and other bits of private work , I could at a push clear £12,000 of my debts in the next 12 months.

That would be fantastic. Hope you get the 12 month contract John. Don't know the answer to your question tho'. Are you with CCCS or Payplan? They could advise you.

How about continue with your current payments, save the extra until the end of your 12 month term in an account that is giving a high rate of interest or an ISA ( and has limited access if you cant trust yourself!) and then offer full and finals on the balances ? including the nice bit of "free money" you have got from the interest ?
After all anything could happen in the next 12 months and you don’t want to over commit yourself just in case:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
no idea re how much you should be paying as I always made at least the min repayments, just wanted to say good luck with getting the contract
I really admire what you're doing, and you so deserve it  Highest Debt (Sept 04) -> £41,300

Again, like others, I'm afraid I can't offer practical advice on what to do in this situation, but wanted to say congratulations on the possible contract. Well done! - thats a fantastic amount off what you owe and well done to you for wanting to pay it off your debts rather than spend it on other things!
