A few months back, TWO of the self pay machines had cash in them (£40 total I think). I took the money and handed it to the cashier, explaining what had happened. She then called the supervisor who took the money away - not even a thank you.Never heard anymore of it - supervisor probably spent it.

Did it show that the women saw you walk off, leave the money and then not have the decency to tell you?

Who's to say that the 2 women know the asisstant who distracted you?

I hope you are able to get your money back.

they probably did spend it... the money that somerfield pays is appaling. not that that justifies theft, but £40 is a good few pints when you need to de-stress from a sh*tty job...
The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
    It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

    You're telling me :(
As I've always said 'if you pay peanuts, expect to get monkeys' and they do pay peanuts.
Maybe thats why the customer service is so attrocious. I recently started working for Somerfield (I have lots of retail experience at all levels) and was told the first week not to bother checking people eggs on the checkout as its a waste of time and that I shouldnt pack peoples bags as I serve them because they are more than capable of doing it themselves! And this was by the checkout manager; I couldnt believe it.
At least I keep getting complimented by the customers on how efficient I am, and how friendly :D

The somerfield woman who distracted you should of waited until you had finished at the machine before speaking to you, and would of thought that would be in your favour if you complain and just politely but firmly state this to them, like someone else said....whos to know that she wasnt associates of the 2 women?!?! (probably not, but you dont know that!)
Id hassle somerfields some more...its negligence on there side too!

I was 'distracted' and feeling rushed in Tescos when I was paying for my shopping and walked away without the checkout girl giving me my cashback, was only when I was queing up at the ciggie counter that I realised and (5+ mins later on a very busy day) and the guy behind the counter said to tell customer services, they took me back to the till and asked the checkout girl if she remembered me or giving me the money, luckily she realised she hadnt ( nor signed the reciept to say she had)....and they gave it to me, but have wondered if they didnt remember , or if they would of flatly refused, what my rights would of been..if I hadnt of stopped for ciggies, ( as I nearly didnt as the queue was so long!) I would of gone home and forgotten about it til i went to the shop the next day and probably blamed hubby or son for dipping in my purse! lol)
    Tatts :hello: :kisses2:
  • Somerfield saver card allows you to buy special deals in store, it doesn't have to be registered - mine isn't and I am still eligable for the BOGOF's etc.. So even if Somerfield investigate, they may not have detials onf ile for the saver card use.

Also at my local somerfield cash back doesn't come out of the self scan machine, at end of off the 4 slef service tills their is one till with someone monitering the 4 tills and you have to take your receipt to their till and they give you cash back.
