A dress dilemma and a bridesmaid dilemma

Hi

Two problems.

1. We have decided on our wedding date, but haven't booked anything yet. Date is Sat June 5th 2010 - after the bank holiday and before the start of the world cup (important as friends are big football fans). My only bridesmaid has just said that her boyfriend's 30th birthday is 4 days after that and he was planning to celebrate it that weekend. All the other weekends after the end of April (too rainy) and before July (too pricey) are football weekends or bank holidays. What should I do? Could I ask her to ask her boyfriend to celebrate the week after? As far as I know they haven't booked anything yet either, but they may have reasons that they can't do the following weekend.

2. I've just seen the dress I want on Ebay but I haven't actually tried it on in the shop yet so I don't know how it fits or which size I need. However it's £110 cheaper than in the shop and it ends today. Should I risk it and resell it?

Thanks guys - opinions always welcome!

ouch! tough call, me personally I'd keep the date you have booked, its your wedding, you'll only get married once (I hope lol) whereas your friends boyfriend will have plenty of birthdays (sorry to sound blunt) perhaps he should be more considerate, its not like it his actual birthday on the day of your wedding, Im sure he could arrange something else!

Regarding the dress - Email the seller on ebay ask what their returns policy is - explain you would need to try the dress on, ask for a 7 day full money back return if it doesnt fit? If they arent prepared to accept returns then I wouldnt bother, you could end up losing money even if you tried to resell it!
Life is what you make it.

    Thanks weeclick

I'm hoping I'll have time to run into town today and try it on, but the branch I went into yesterday didn't have it at all. Eek.

As for the bridesmaid, I've texted her to ask whether it'd be possible for him to celebrate the weekend after, haven't heard back yet but I'll update here when I do!
