I just either crumble by hand or use a cheese grater - and I have also used my stick blender to good effect - just put in a little bread at a time though. Also best to let the bread dry out a little bit before making into crumbs :)

If there is some liquid in the recipe just cut the bread into cubes and mix with the liquid before adding the other ingredients. It should soften enough to make into a paste
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

If you let the big lumps dry out a bit you can go back and rub them down a bit more.
  • i grate mine - but I leave it out for a while so it kind of hardens.

i have with much success used frozen bread put it in a bag or similar then just (think of someone that has pi/t you off) bash the living day lights out of it with a heavy pot (tried the rolling pin once nearly lost a finger lol).
If it's not frozen i let it dry out and then chop with a herb chopper a sharp knife and a little effort should work.

This reminded me of Christmas a couple of years ago. We were just about to start cooking when the power went out, so we had to take turns grating enough bread to do bread crumbs for an entire turkey. And we didn't have time to let the bread dry out, so it wasn't too successful. Luckily the power eventually came back on after a couple of hours. Good times.
