i was prompted to enquire about claiming for tax allowance on these forums, as i work for royal mail and was told i could get more allowance to maintain my uniform.
i phoned up and they have allowed me more tax free allowance for the year.
he then told me to send a letter requesting payment for the past few years that i missed... as i joined royal mail in December 2007.
.. how will they go about paying me this payment that is due?
... will they send me a cheque or make it up by taking less tax from me?

I imagine they will adjust your tax code, so in essence your personal allowance will be higher.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
