New Deal

Hi all,
Back again with this new deal issue .
I am a part time worker doing 14 hours a week and still signing on for my stamp
trying to find full time work but nothing at the moment.
because i have been signing on for just over 18 months i have to do new deal which
is mandatory for 30hours a week for 13 weeks and also will have to give up my part time work to do this course .
I have asked my employer for an extra couple of hours but unfortunatley due to the economy they said no
I am absolutley gutted about this as i have worked hard to get to where i am now.
To have to give up a job to do a 13 week course which is not garanteed a job at the end seems so unfair.
Any advice please

So you have too give up your part time job so you can do some 13 week course which has absolutely guarantee of a job at the end, it is unfair but if its what the job centre want you to do then its what you have to do

The point is, there is no guarantee of a job at the end of the course. Although New Deal is mandatory there can be exemptions, have you asked your adviser whether you can be exempt due to your part time job?

Could you ask your employer to put your hours up by two but pay you the same wage.
