I am trying to find out whether it is possible to remotely access my office Mac from a windows laptop.
I was reading about LogMeIn which allows users to connect to a host PC via a Windows, OSX or Linux operating system - this programme would be ideal for my needs (and its free too) but the damn thing is not comaptible with a Mac OSX host according to the FAQ on their website.
Does anyone know of a similar programme or service that is compatible with Macs (preferably one that is cheap or free to use)?
Thanks

If you just want to use filesharing, you could try FTP, which is a cross platform file transfer service.
A quick google seems to indicate that Pure FTPd combined with the Pure FTPd Manager frontend is a good option, but I can't comment on it.0 -
Thanks Darksun.
I primarily want to check and manage my work e-mails while travelling and possibly access some word processing and pdf documents I have on my work computer - alternatively I want my boss to just buy me a Blackberry.
Will FTP allow me to do this?0 -
Before you say it - I am aware that FTP will not make my boss buy me a Blackberry.0

Symantec Pcanywhere 12 now works cross platform... But its around £1400

I use Chicken of the VNC (http://sourceforge.net/projects/cotvnc/) to access my Windows Server desktop using an iMac at home. (VNC runs on the Server - http://www.realvnc.com/)
Not certain if it works the other way round.
Both VNC and CotVNC have free versions.0 -
I use VNC in the office on my horrible Dell (running windows 2000) to access the Mac in our server room. Just need to make sure you enter the IP address of the Mac and it works.0

Thanks - I'm going to try Chicken of the VNC.0
