Although on a diet think you have to be sensible here too and use up what you have as on a limited budget and start a fresh next month.
you have some healthy foods there and also some not so healthy but can be made healthier like sausages into a casserole.
just eat as best you can with what you have then meal plan for next month bearing in mind you are on a diet.
feed all the family the same and have bread and butter with food if the children tend to want more food to fill them up, wont hurt the whole family to eat healhier.
good luck.0 -

Ok so my guesstimates about what where in the cuboards where not totally wrong, but not totally right either haha... ok here it is the full list, there are other "bits" about .. flour, marg, suger etc etc which ive not counted as im trying to focus on the stuff to make meals.
Breakfasts should not be too much of a problem, i'll need milk (but have dried if needed) and i have 1 box weetbix, 1 pack cornflakes, 2 packs of sugery crap for the kids and 2 bags of porridge oats.
As i said i do have more money in the budget, but i keep over spending and it would be nice this month to come in UNDER!!! besides my fridge and cuboards are bursting i have no-where to put more food, so this is just my own personal storecuboard challenge i guess.
Maybe someone could merge the thread for me.
Ok plan's for today ... 1 packet of mince, load of peppers, onions, 2 tins of toms, 1 tin of beans and of course lentils = CHILLI served with rice, i figure as long as i keep the size of the rice portion reasonable that shouldn't be too bad and i should have at least 1 extra portion to tuck away for later in the week, i also have a tub of Squash soup in the fridge that i;ll have more my lunch i'll make the boys a butty or beans on toast or something.
Ok what else i'm seriously lacking in the "sweet treat" department, i do have 5 banana's which have grown legs sitting on the dining room table which im going to turn into Banana cake and banana flapjacks this afternoon that should keep the boy's going for the week in there packed lunches and some snacks in the evening.
I also have a packet of plain pancakes ... don't ask me why i have ready made pancakes i have no idea they must have been on offer but i thought for a nice treat tonight i would do the boys pancakes, icecream and some golden syrup.. yum .. but none for me *sob* stupid diet.
It just annoy's me i can budget fine, im pretty good i think making food stretch and making meals cheaply but i can not seem to do it and diet at the same flipping time.. grr.
My main worry atm it the pita's etc i'd normally freeze them so they don't go bad but i have no room in the freezer whatsoever.
Basically my plan is to live out of the cuboards as much as possible and try and save this £15 for perishables, milk, bread, salad stuff etc.0 -

thanks vicky
I saw frozen baby corn in Morrison's. It wasn't cheap though - over £2 for a pack if I remember. (Too expensive for me at that time so I didn't get any).
It's only a game

It's baby corn and i get mine at asda, i just throw a few into a stir fry

tbh i often buy the cheap smart price stir fry mix add a couple of mangetout, couple of frozen baby corn and a corgette just makes it abit nicer that the cheap stuff on it's own

Ok i managed the weekend .. yay.. I used the gammon Joint i had, cooked in the Slow cooker last night (was away most of the weekend), did potatos, frozen veg and gamon (just watched portion size)
used the leftovers + some soup mix, with a carrot, leek and some onion to make a pea and ham soup. Worked out the cals on it and it doens't seem to be too dence so i'll have that for lunch for about 3 days this week, and i still have some ham left for pitta's/butty's etc.
did the kids some pita with tomatos and cheese for packed lunches (they love it just like cold pizza haha), with an apple, some mini sausages and a yogurt.
tonight im cooking the other packet of mince, with tinned toms, yet more lentils etc into spag bol again should have enough for a few portions, it's lean mince and i drain off all the fat soooo shouldn't be to bad for the diet as long as i can resist the cheese as i grate it for the kids. This months aim :- Stick to food Budget / find £100 for my car insuranceMay GC :- £250/£234.55 :T:A:TJune GC :- £150/£127.37:eek:0
