Hi,
My name is Lynsey and I've just opened up my own photography business. Weve generated loads of interest in the bridal world already getting bookings for next year!! Weve got some great packages available already but want to know if theres anything we could do differently.
So please could you tell me what brides and grooms expect from a photographer, and what unique little extras would you look for that made you go "wow" if a photographer offered this in a package to you?
We are involved in a few wedding shows throughout Ireland within the next few weeks and would be great if you could advice me so I can make us stand out from the rest, we really want to give clients the wow factor, mainly because we genuinely have a passion for photography and love making people happy with our photos and service.
Also when planning a wedding what sort of budgets did you all set aside for the photographer? Whats the most important thing you look for when booking the photographer for your wedding, is it the friendly service, effecient service or value for money?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

personally - I want to have flexibility with my package. these folk that are like ohh you can only have this package or this package and that’s it.. well it just annoys me.
I think more and more brides are looking for a digital only package and so I thinK you should consider this too...
I personally want a photographer that can get a mix of formal and caught in the moment shots , and also someone that will be able to be a bit arty when taking the shots... either in how they frame the shots or in how they change the colour - ie to black and white or to mainly black and white with one centrepiece being in bright colours... but of course these are an individual preference.
I am still choosing a photographer, so it may be useful for those that have been married to suggest things – as they’ve been thrugh it and know what becomes most important on the day…0 -
We only found this out after we picked our photographer but think it's a really nice touch - he took us to a local park and photographed us about a month before wedding. He's going to put one of the pics on a canvas for guests to sign so that we have a keepsake of the day. Obviously it gave him a chance to see how we photograph as well!Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0

thanks guys for all your input Im pleased to say EVERYTHING mentioned is what we offer anyway!
Agreed with the digital only package - so many people are far more interested in the cd than anything else!
We also offer the option of variation to the photos Kelda, and poor Niki spends days on end editing every single photo to look their absolute best!! We also do a mix of traditional and reportage (on the spot) photography to make sure we appeal to everyones taste!
We also offer the engagement portrait session too, and this is usually done about 1 or 2 months before the weddings, although we only offer a printed photo, perhaps the canvas is something we could look into it sounds like a really good touch!!
BTW if you ever need a photographer now you know where I am :P
Again thanks for the help, keep the suggestions coming, its great to hear we are already on the right path!! and will always appreciate learning more and offering new things!Life is what you make it.0 -

Forgot to say - we actually do have a "thinning" tool in our software although this always has to be put across the right way to the client - but basically we can make you whatever size you want, get rid of spots, dirty marks or the new husband if you so wish :rotfl:Life is what you make it.0 -
