Cheap DVD player with TV tuner?

Ok, basically, I’ve been helping my mum reorganise and redecorate her house, and as part of this have acquired a little TV in my bedroom. However, the remote for it is completely destroyed.
Now, I don’t live at home, and only pop over a few weekends a year (I live in London, my parents in Ireland). However, I would like to be able to watch this little TV in my room the odd time I’m over there, but not spend a lot of money for the privilege.
I was wondering if, instead of shelling out money for a replacement remote (which may not work, we already tried a Ross universal remote with no success), if I bought a cheap DVD player (which I also want to have in the room) do any of them have basic TV tuners in them the way old VCRs did? I.e. could I plug the aerial into the DVD player, and tune the channels into that, and just use the DVD remote to do everything, apart from turning on the TV to the AV channel?
If anyone knows any cheap DVD players that do that, please let me know! I know there are quite a few with freeview receivers, but Freeview isn’t enabled in my parents area until 2012, so I’m not sure if any of those would work or not?
Btw, it’s an old goodmans, CRT type tv, so I def don’t need any kind of HD DVD player/upscaler
