Bailiffs

Can anyone help, got a visit from a bailiff yesterday which I let him in to my house, I have to pay the debt by the end of this month, which I dont dispute I owe the money I have to pay it, my problem was I was and still am really petreived, I had a breakdown after the death of my parents and when they arrived I had a panick attack in which one of the bailiffs had to get me my tablets to calm me down because I was so distressed, really felt like I had to call a ambulance because I felt that ill, went to the doctor last night because I was in should a state, knowing the state I was in when they arrived are they honestly allowed to do this if they know you are obviously taking ill.

Did he identify himself as a bailiff before you let him in?

    Did he compile an inventory?

Did you sign a walking possession agreement?

What is the debt? How much is it for? What items are on the inventory?

Sorry about all the questions but someone's going to ask them and it might as well be me. Our resident experts will be along shortly (Roberto Moir, Herbie21) but they'll need some of these details from you.

For info for others, the key with bailiffs is not to allow them entry on the first visit - just get details (through letterbox?) and take advice.

Take a look here, you also need to send a PM to "Herbie21" who is an expert in this field.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
